What is astrology - Astrology facts:
Astrology is simply the observation and study of recurring harmonic patterns in the natural macrocosmic world. And the study and application to how these harmonies relate and manifest in the natural microcosmic one. It is in fact the study and observation of nature at its purist level.
What makes a good astrologer - Astrology facts:
Good astrologers should identify where they learnt astrology and their accreditation and affiliations. A good astrologer will be affiliated to a group or governing body that makes them accountable to said groups that have moral and ethical codes of conduct. This also gives you a contact to complain to if you believe you have been treated poorly. Good astrologers will never repeatedly approach or hassle you to get readings, add on extra costs during a reading or claim to remove curses or the like. A good astrologer will not be fatalistic , astrology can be very precise in some instances but very is always an element of uncertainty that should be respected. Good astrologers will always ask you what you are wanting to know before a reading and be interested in details. This is not because they are gathering information to tell you later. It is because it aides in breaking down and ruling out certain areas of house, planet and sign significations as there are many and staying quite will give you a less specific or broader reading. Good astrologers put people first and treat them with respect they will also turn down people if they believe its in the best interest of all parties, this too should be respected.
How important is the time of birth in a natal chart - Astrology facts:
Your birth time is extremely important to give accurately (within 4 minutes is ok 1 minute is best) this is because the Moon, Ascendant, Midheaven, Imum Coeli, Descendant and conjunctions, oppositions, parallels and contra parallels to fixed stars move and change within this time frame. Aspects to these will also change sometimes dramatically from applying to separating. In saying this a birth chart is still useful if its within half an hour but you need to know what not to take to seriously and what is accurate. For some more details on this subject you can check out my blog on chart calculation Here.
What is the ascendant and what does it mean - Astrology facts:
The ascendant is often referred also as the rising sign or AS for short but to be specific the ascendant is the degree of the zodiac where dawn was breaking at the moment of birth. It relates to a specific face and bound of the sign it was rising in and possibly a fixed star and aspects from the degree to a light or planet etc. This may or may not have been at your location of birth but the closer the ascendant is to the sun the closer it was to your location of birth and the closer to the sun setting the closer to your location and its opposing Descendant. The ascendant represents you first appearances, traits and reputation to others it’s your packaging.
What is a sun sign and what does it mean - Astrology facts:
A sun sign is 1 of 12 tropical or sidereal signs the sun follows around the earths celestial equator. The sign the sun is in at the time of birth is ones sun sign and represents the fundamental or core nature. In sun sign astrology the suns house is read as the 1st house of a signs chart and the opposing sign is the 7th house. This method gives the highest probability of accuracy to share to a broad audience as the sun is the fundamental nature, and is the only true light source in the solar system all other planets merely reflect its light. In other words it influences all facets of life and no other planet does this. Astrologers know that we cant break all humans down into 12 basic groups but to give astrology a voice to the masses this is still the best proven medium.

How does astrology relate to precession of the equinox - Astrology facts: The precession of the equinox is the movement of the fixed stars and constellations in relation to the tropical Aries ingress point which marks 0 degrees Aries in the Tropical Zodiac (Zodiac of Seasons) and takes 25,772 years to complete or move approximately 1 degree every 72 years. The tropical zodiac today is approximately 24 degrees ahead of the sidereal zodiac. So, if your sun is at 24 degrees Scorpio in a tropical chart then it would be about 0.00 Scorpio in a sidereal one.
How does tropical and sidereal astrology vary - Astrology facts:
Tropical Astrology uses a zodiac that is based on the seasons of the year and the names of the signs are symbolic of that time of year. Tropical astrology relates more to the physical mundane world like the weather, environment and its life body’s. Sidereal astrology uses the actual constellations of the zodiac plotted by fixed stars as they move in an apparent retrograde motion to the tropical zodiac which has a fixed position. Sidereal astrology relates more to the spiritual and ethereal significations of astrology. Currently the two zodiacs are approximately 24 degrees apart. It is very important to know when reading horoscopes or ordering charts. What kind of astrologer wrote this and am I reading my tropical or sidereal sign for some people it’s the same but for many it is not. PS I am a tropical astrologer…
I don’t know birth time what is rectification does it work - Astrology facts: Rectification is when the astrologer starts with an approximate window of birth and then by looking at significant historical events in your life, like marriage, child births, family deaths, moving abroad etc. Then manipulates the chart until these events all occur in line with significations that match the events of that time. For rectification to work correctly the astrologer must rely on the clients accuracy and the timing of these events. While it can work very well in some cases it is not always fool proof and should be discussed with the astrologer to get an idea of its merits.
